Abstract: A bar gene was introduced into wheat immature embryos(10 days af ter pollination) by Agrobacte rium tume faciens mediated trans formation. PPT(5‰) selec t ion and further PCR and PCR-Southern blot test demons trated that bar gene has been integrated into plant genome. The major procedures for obtaining high frequency re generated plants were also discus sed.
