Abstract: Pollen abortion in the male sterile line of celery was studied in this paper. The result showed that the development of male sterile anther was silimar to male fertile anther up to the tetrad stage. The meiosis of microsporocyte in the male sterile line proceeded normally, and the single nucleus microspores were generated and released from the tetrads. As the toppet cells collapsed before the due time, the microspores degenered and disappeared at last for poor nutrition supplement.
