Abstract: In order to investigate the mechanism of cytoplasmic male sterility in Cauliflower,we analyzed the proteomic altered with pollen mother cells(PMC) at different developmental stages(meiosis stage of PMC,double-three nucleus stage and pollen grain stage) of cytoplasmic male sterility line(CMS) and corresponding maintainer line in cauliflowers. The results showed that proteomic altered was observed in CMS compared with maintainer line, especially in double-three nucleus stage. 4 protein spots(spot 1,9,19,20) were lost and 7 protein spots were showed decreased and 10 protein spots were increased in protein abundance in CMS,respectively,10 protein spots were identified using MS/MS and NCBI database searching. The results demonstrated that these proteins were involved in a wide range of signal transduction, energy metabolism, protein biosynthesis, photosynthesis and resistance reaction. These experimental results may be used in male sterility mechanism investigation and maintainer line selection in cauliflowers.
