Abstract: Cluster analysis on tomato germplasms were carried out based on the genetic diversity of quality traits and polymorphism of molecular markers.Experimental results showed that 4 groups were clustered by either quality traits or molecular markers.Processing tomato germplasms with high fruit firmness, slow softening speed,long-round fruit, low water content and high soluble solid content were clustered together in the two system, which indicated that some molecular markers closely linked with genes controlling processing quality traits.Genetic diversity among different cultivars could be detected by molecular markers sensitively. The quality differences among different groups were apparently greater than that among cultivars in the same group. It was concluded that cluster analysis was an efficient method for identifying genetic diversity among germplasms and screening core germplasms.
