Abstract: Homogenous lines can be obtained in a very short time by haploidy breeding method such as microspore culture and anther culture.Techniques for anther culture has been developed and widely used for most Brassica species, but not for radish(Raphanus sativus L.).Anther of 15 genotypes of radish have been cultured in vitro and induced to undergo embryogenesis and plant formation.Of 15 genotypes evaluated, four produced embyos ranging from 21.3 to 2.0.The genotype was the main factor to influence the embyogenesis. In addition the growing condition of donor plants also influenced the embyogenesis.FCM analysis of ploidy level of anther-derived plants was made.
