Abstract: The effects of nutrient addition in substrate before sowing on growth and quality of seedling were studied with tomato Zhongza No.105,3:1:1(V/V/V) peat, vermiculite, and perlite were used as substrate, emergence rate, available N,P,and K content in substrate and morphological index of tomato plug seedlings were determined.Nutrient content of substrate in root zone increased with the elevation of nutrient addition in substrate, while emergence rate and vigor index of tomato seedling increased at first and decreased subsequently.A better addition of nutrient in substrate before sowing was 600N-120P-600K,emergence rate and vigor index were higher than other treatments by 18.54%-22.60%,2.07%-147.79%.
