Abstract: To transfer the yellow-seeded gene into Polcms restorer lines and utilize heterosis using molecular marterassisted selection (MAS) would be an ideal approach to increase the rapeseed oil yield. This paper analyzed the effects of the back and foreground selection in yellow-seeded Brassica napus, the results showed that the selection results of 7 different RAPD primer combinations are identical and selection by a limited linkage groups can get the whole genome similar effect in background selection.During foreground selection program,it demonstrated that the selection efficiency of each marker would decrease with generation and the unilateral markers can't increase the efficiency with number, moreover, flanked markers can attain higher efficiency than unilateral markers. As a result,we proposed some improved strategies for back and foreground selection in crop MAS.
