Abstract: By capillary electrophoresis, the betaine content of T1,T4,T6 show ed with foreign BADH f romAt riplex hortenis, and the accepted wheat of shi 4185,was deter mined. The results that the betaine content of T1,T4,T6 was hig her than shi 4185,and the dif ference between T1,T6 and shi 4185,except T4 and shi4185,was sig nificant. It was indicated that the foreign BADH gene could improve the betaine co ntent in wheat, but the improvement s were not the same in different stains.
