Abstract: In the method of water culture, the effects of Mn deficiency on indexes of physiology and biochemistry of two different genotypic wheat species, i. e. Jingdong 8 and Linyuan 7069, were studied. When the density of Mn is 0.001 μmol/L.the effect on the dry weight of stem and leave is significant; that is, dry weight of stem and leave of Jingdong 8 is decreased clearly whereas that of Linyuan 7069 is increased obviously. The content of chlorophyll is more when Mn is completely deficient than Mn is low. Mn deficiency significantly inhibits the absorbability of NO3-N for Jingdong 8, but it is not obvious for Linyuan 7069. It is different between the species that the effect of Mn deficiency on the metabolism of carbohydrate, ammo acid and protein. For Linyuan 7069, Mn deficiency mostly inhibits the synthesis of amino acid. However, for Jingdong 8, Mn deficiency mainly inhibits the synthesis of protein.
