Abstract: The fractionation method was used to study the form distribution of soil manganese. Total Mn of 20 Soils in Hebei Province was fractionated into exchangeable, carbonata bound, oxide bound, organic matter bound and residual form, and the average contents are 2.71ppm, 75.04ppm,115.5ppm, 14.50ppm and 118.5ppm respectively. Soil properties(soil pH, organic matter content, carbonate content and particle size) have important influence on form distribution of soil Mn. The results are helpful for understanding the chemistry and nutrition of soil manganese.

Key words: Manganese, Soil, Form
