Abstract: The physiological character influences of low temperature treatment on 8 tomato varieties during seedingstage were studied and identified. The results showed that tomato varieties 1056 and Zhongza 105 had higher cold toleranceunder day 14 ℃/night 8 ℃ treatment according to the growth change comparing with day 28 ℃/night 18 ℃.Thechange of chlorophyll content, soluble sugar content and root activity rightly reflected the low -temperature -resistant oftomato varieties. So we can choose such physiological changes as the tolerance indicators of low -temperature in tomato.
