Cloning and Structure Analysis of Foxtail Millet APDH Gene

Abstract: It was found that glyceralehyde232phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH)was frequently uP2rgulated expres2 sion in salt and drought stress treatment experiments of foxtail millet seedlings in our previous work and from literature. For detail annotation of the function of G APDH in tolerance reaction of abiotic stress,full length cDNA of foxtail millet G APDH gene was cloned using RACE technology in this paper. This full length cDNA contains a 1008 bp open2reading2 frame which encoding a 338 amino acid peptide with an estimated molecular weight of 35 911. 03 Da. Sequence compari2 son and phylogenetic analysis indicated that the foxtail millet G APDH cDNA was highly identical with its ortholog from maize and the next most similar orthologs come from two other cereals,rice and wheat. The possible functions and related topics were discussed.
