Abstract: The sensitive response of wheat sproes in uninucleate and binucleate stage as well as anther wall in uninucleate stage to short-termhigh temperature were studied by using transmission electron microscope. The results showed that the uninucleate spore and tapetum cell were most sensitive tohigh temperature of 45 ℃and the cell membranes such as mitochondria membrane might get broken by ten-minute treatment of that temperature, while anther epidermis, endothecium and middle layer must be treated for 30 minutes to get the similar ultrastructural changes. The spores turned less sensitive tohigh temperature with their development and the spores at binucleate stage also need 30 minute treatment ofhigh temperature to get the similar ultrastructural changes.
