Abstract: Contents of five kinds of phytohormones in different leaves were tested during filling period. The results showed that the contents of ethylene and ABA in the senescing leaves increased obviously, the contents of Z+ZR and GA3 in the effective leaves also gothigher during the initial and middle filling periods, but the flag leaf showed complex. Therefore, the phytohormones can be divided into two parts, one was ABA and ethylene that induced and prompted senesce, and the other parts was GA3 and Z+ZR that maintained the functional leaves and inhibited senesce. IAA showed double functions that maintained growth in the earlier filling period, and that promoted the senescing period in the later filling period. In addition, flag leaf was very special, perhaps due to its important function.

Key words: Wheat, Phytohormone, Ethylene, IAA, ABA, Z+ZR, GA3
