Abstract: The potash status in calcareous soil is studied in the South of Shanxi. The results showed that quick acting potassium level in Chao soil and Cinnanon soil tended to decrease. It decrease 31.25 mg/kg in Chao soil and 15.75 mg/kg in Cinnanon soil.It differed with soil types, soils in different agro ecological areas and soils in different crop rotation system. The results of the potassium fertilizer experiment on wheat indicated that the application of potassium to wheat led to the increase of output, simultaneously, obtained, maximum yield application rate and economic optimum application rate on wheat.
