Abstract: To study correlations of wheat yield and agronomic traits,it had investigated the main traits of 78 wheat varieties in 4 different ages. Results indicated that, with time passing, plant heights showed trends of firstly reduced and then kept stable, flag leaf lengths decreased slowly, flag leaf widths and areas were firstly increased and then kept stable. Among the 4 ages, plant heights exhibited non-significant negative correlation with kernel number per ear, thousand grains weight and maturing spikelet number, and non-significant positive correlation with infertility spikelet number. Certain positive correlation existed in flag leaf length and area with the yield traits. Therefore, reduced plant height and increased flag leaf width and area is favorable to increase wheat production. High variable coefficients existed in ear grain number and infertility spikelet number, and more choice value was provided for later breeding work.
