Abstract: Tomato-(Lycopersicon-esculentum)-07g-31(Red) ,07g-32(Pink,F1) ,07g-33(Pink,male parent) ,07g-34(Pink,female parent) was used to investigate the changes of respiration and ethylene physiology,firmness,polyga-lacturonase and cell wall ultrastructure of tomato fruits with different storability in the process of ripening and softening. The result indicated that the storability of 07g-31,07g-33 was better, their climacteric peak delay with lower intensity and less ethylene production,ACC content,ACC synthase and ACC oxidase. They intenerate more slowly, the activity of polygalacturonase were lower, the cell wall and middle lamella break up more slowly and the degree were lesser,07g-34 behaves just the reverse, the exhibitions of F1 hybrid 07g-32 were between 07g-33(male parent) and 07g-34 (female parent) in above aspects.
