Abstract: n this paper, indoor pot experiments were conducted to study the effects of three evaporation-inhibiting a-gents,wheat straw smash,MP3005 aquasorb and storeextending material on soil moisture evaporation. The results showed that all these three agents can inhibit soil evaporation and increase water use efficiency, and the effect of soil waterinhib-ition varied with the amount of evaporation inhibiting agents applied. The benefit analysis shows that the best efficiency can be achievedwhen 8 000.4 kg/ hawheat straw smash,1 600.08kg/ ha MP3005,4 000.2kg/ ha store-extending material were applied.

Key words: Evaporation-inhibiting agents, Soil, Water retention
