Abstract: Parts of mtDAN-Cyt b gene were sequenced and analyzed in 15 species of Chrysomelidae. The obtained sequence data revealed the considerable variation in 198 nucleotide sites(about 50.8%).The average difference between sequences was 18.9% and A+T was about 72.7%.Transition and transversion represented the base of TC and TA respectively. The ratio of TS/TV(R) was 0.8.The constructed phylogenetic trees showed that Alticinae has closer relationship with Chrysomelinae, compared with Galerucinae;Oides was the earliest-differentiated population. The relationship of Monolepta,Paleosepharia and Atrachya was close;Cneorane and Aulacophora could form a sister group.Phylogenetic trees based on protein sequences were more reliable than those based on nucleotide data.
