Abstract: In this study we investigated the locum of fertility restorer gene of A2 cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS) in Sorghum with two cytoplasmic male sterile lines and maintainer lines(A2V4/B2V4,A2TX622/B-2TX622),two restorers(1383-2,Jinliang 5) and F1 and F2 populations of three cross classifications(A2V4×1383-2,A2V4×Jinliang 5 and A2TX622×Jinliang 5) by simple sequence repeat(SSR) technique. The results demonstrated that only one SSR marker,Xtxt65 was found to link with fertility restorer gene in F2 population of A2Tx622×Jinliang 5 and located in linkage groups(LG) J,the map distance between them was 3.4cM;only one SSR marker,Xtxt141 was found to link with fertility restorer gene in F2 population of A2V4×Jinliang 5 and located in LG G,the map distance between them was 13.4cM;no SSR marker was found to link with fertility restorer gene in F2 population of A2V4×1383-2.This showed that the fertility restorer genes linked with these two SSR marker were located two independent loci of one restore Jinliang 5,and at least three independent loci in restorers were associated with A2cMS restoration.
