Abstract: The results of this study indicated that there were two types of heredity of male sterile in carrot, cytoplasmic and nuclear-cytoplasm interactive sterility. Petaloid male sterile was the type of CMS (cytoplasmic male sterile), and the sterility is easy to maintain. Brown anther male sterile belonged to the nuclear-cytoplasm interactive type, and it is genetically complicated. Carrot root mass and diameter were superior to mean traits of parents in heredity.
