Abstract: Based on morphological markers, RAPD markers and the cluster analysis, a core collection comprised of 22 samples from 78 flax germplasm was developed, using stratigy ofrandom sampling and max-distance combined. Mean value, variance, amplitude and range maintenance were used to test the validity sampling scheme. The 78 male sterile flax germplasms were classified into 8 groups according to 10 morphological characteristics cluster analysis in which euclidean distance ranged betwen 0. 394 0 and 10. 709 1,with means of 4.05. While RAPD genetic diversity analysis devided the germaplasms into 3 groups, with genetic difference coefficent ranging from 0. 013 to 0. 897, and means being 0. 361. Sampling validity test showed that the core collection of the genie male sterile flax could well represent the genetic diversity of the whole collection.
