Abstract: The toxicity to corn borer (Ostrinia furnacalis (Guenee)) of nineteen effective strains selected all over the country was evaluated by using standard bioassay techniques. The results showed that strains which belong to sero-type H3a3b are highly toxic to corn borer. Some highly effective strains, such as HD - 1, Enong-3, 551 and 80-1, were chosen with LD50 as standard of toxicity. Thereby, basis for production of effective Bacillus thuringiensis preparation in the future was provided.

Key words: Bacillus thuringiensis, Ostrinia furnacalis, Bioassay
