Abstract: With the high-density of 90 000 plants/ha,the effects of row spacing on spring maize were studied. The experiment was conducted with random block design. There were 12 treatments in the test,DH1.(40.0 cm+40.0 cm),DH2.(50.0 cm+50.0 cm),DH3.(60.0 cm+60.0 cm),DH4.(70.0 cm+70.0 cm),DH5.(80.0 cm+80.0 cm),DH6.(90.0 cm+90.0 cm),KH1.the wide-narrow spacing (53.3 cm+26.7 cm),KH2.(66.7 cm+33.3 cm),KH3.(80.0 cm+40.0 cm),KH4.(93.3 cm+46.7 cm),KH5.(106.7 cm+53.3 cm),KH6.(120.0 cm+60.0 cm).All treatments were repeated three times. The effects of row spacing on grain yield and photosynthetic characteristics were studied in this article. The results showed that with the reducing of row spacing,SPAD of ear leaf,Pn of ear leaf,LAI,as well as PAR capture ratio of corn and dry matter accumulation of corn and grain yield increased accordantly. The 50.0 cm+50.0 cm and 66.7 cm+33.3 cm treatments two years average grain yield increased by 24.3% than the treatments of 90.0 cm+90.0 cm and 120.0 cm+60.0 cm.There was no significant difference between row spacing and wide-narrow spacing.except DH6 and KH6 in 2013. The results indicated that 50 cm + 50 cm and 66.7 cm + 33.3 cm was the best row spacing at higher plant density spring maize in Shanxi.
