Abstract: We chose intraday pollen of male parent of carrot Sweet and Red No. 1 and 08511# as experimental materials which were treated at 24, 27,3 0, 33, 36,3 9℃ respectively for 60 min to study the effects of different temperature to carrot pollen vigor by testing methods of pollens cultured in vitro and aceto-carmine coloration. Results indicated that carrot pollen vigor reduced along with the rise of temperature. And at 24℃ the pollen showed the highest vigor and remarkably inhibited when the temperature was higher than 33℃. Although coloration of carrot 08511# was better than that of the male parent of Sweet and Red No. 1,germination rate of which was significantly affected by temperature compared to the later.
