Abstract: The genetic diversity and structure of 97 rice varieties were assessed with 190 single-nucleotide poly- morphisms (SNPs) even distribution on the 12 chromosomes in this study. The result showed that 92 SNPs have polymorphism in 190 SNPs with a 48.42% polymorphism rate. Genetic similarity between different varieties ranged from 0.34 to 1.00. The mean GS was 0.87. According to bayesian and UPGMA cluster,97 rice varieties were sepa- rated into two subspecies, indica and japonica. The genetic relationship among these rice varieties was not in accord with their geographical origins. And these results indicate that these rice varieties have close genetic relationships and narrow genetic basis within subspecies.
