Abstract: The wheat line YW243 was developed by cross between disease-resistant lines and anther culture. Its resistance was tested by many different races of yellow rust in the field and green house. The result indicated that the line had high resistance at seedling stage and adult stage. It was able to resistant to CY29, CY30, CY31, SU - 11 and CY32 in China. Test crossing with susceptible wheat cultivatar Jing 771 was also conducted for this line. The result showed that YW243 was resistant to yellow rust and had a pair dominance gene which was different from known genes. Consequently, YW243 is possibly a wheat line with a new yellow rust resistance gene.
