Abstract: Effect of interaction between nitrogen and sulfur on wheat growth during seedling stage and its nutrient uptake was studied. The result showed that both nitrogen and sulfur affected wheat growth. The wheat yield was increased by 89% while 200 mg nitrogen applied perpot at the same sulfur level. At low nitrogen level, sulfur had the best effect on wheat growth and in creased sulfur concentration in the wheat plant. The application of sulfur also caused a little decrease of nitrogen concentration in the wheat plant. When available nitrogen was enough, wheat plant yield of aerial part was 2.4~ 3.9 times as that of roots. The wheat plant yield of aerial and roots were nearly equal. It accounted for that under nitrogen dress condition more dry-matterpartitioned to roots to promote root growth and to advance root resistance to bad conditions.
