Comparative Analysis of Lens culinaris Medic. Karyotype

Abstract

Abstract: Karyotype analysis of two varieties of Lens culinaris Medichas been studied by means of preparing mitotic chromosome specimen and Giemsa staining technique.The results obtained showed that theyhave the same formula of 2n=2x=16=6m+6sm+2st+2st(SAT). They allhave "3B" karyotype. Theyhave the same chromosome relative length coefficient of 2n=2x=16=4L+6M₂+6M₁+4S. The obvious difference on arm ratio of the seventh chromosome and length of the second chromosomehas been gained between the two varieties of Lens culinaris Medic.
