Abstract: The results of artificial inoculation and field survey indicated that 23 plant species representing 7 genera of Gramineae are the hosts of Blumeria graminis(DC.) speer f. sp. tritici Em Marchal. Among them 11 grass species of 6 genera are new records of hosts of this powedery mildew in China. UP to the present,a total of 31 plant species distributed over 10 genera have been reported by the present writers and other authors to be host of this fungus in China. It is suggested that the behavior of wheat powdery mildew on the accessions of Triticum supports the morden taxonomic systems of the genus Triticum L.
