The Study on the Interaction of Wheat Cultivars and Isolates of Leaf Rust Collected from Different Ecological Regions of Shanxi Province

Abstract

Abstract: The interaction between the, 181 isolates of leaf rust collected from different ecological regions of Shanxi Province in 1989 and the 33 wheat commercial, candidate cultivars as well as parental materials from the Province were studied in the greenhouse of Hebei Agricultural University by the Department of Plant Protection in 1991, under the cooperation with the Institute of Plant Protection, Shanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences.The results showed that the leaf rust populations from different ecological regions did have different virulence.For example, cv.Fengkang 13 were either susceptible to or resistant against the leaf rust populations.However in the area where cv.Fengkang 13 appeared to be resistant, its resistance differed remarkably.
