Abstract: High protein content variety Jidou12 was used as recipient panrent to backcross to 28 soybean germplasm with different geography origine and protein or oil content. The characters of protein and oil content distribution among all these BC2F1 introgression lines were analysed. The results showed that high protein content individuals were found among all of the 28 populations, and the proportion of individuals that over higher protein parent was between 4. 0% and 68. 2%. Among these, the proportion of 18 populations have exceeded 40%. In general, the higher protein content combinations are mainly in BC2F1 introgression lines. On the contrary, the character of oil content distribution was not similar, and the proportion of individuals that over higher oil parent was between 0 and 67. 4%, and only 7 populations have surpassed 40%. There also exist 9 populations that no individuals over higher oil parent. Therefore, lower oil content combinations are largely in the BC2F1 populations. This work indicated that it was easier to produce high protent content progeny than to produce high oil content progeny using introgression linse with Jidou12 genetic background.
