Ecological Zoning of Millet (Setaria Italica) In Shanxi Province

Abstract

Abstract: By means of corresponding analysis, 16 natural ecological and cultivation factors which were in close relationship with millet and millet’s own ecological characteristics were classified on a two-dimension coordinate. Meteorological data collected over years in 62 counties of Shanxi province and agricultural statistical data of every county in 1987 were used in the investigation. Meanwhile, the rest 48 counties of Shanxi province were treated by analogism. The millet ecological regions of Shanxi province were divided into 4 climatic and geographic ecological regions and 10 cultivated ecological regions. Every ecological region was described concisely, and existing problems were put and reliable basis for directing production and research were provided.
