Abstract: This study used 27 SRAP primer pairs to analyze genetic relationships and genetic diversity among 47 elite sweet sorghum gemplasm. The results showed that the studied genotypes could be definitively distinguished by the SRAP fingerprinting patterns generated from these primer pairs.Furthermore, cluster analysis based on SRAP data classfied the studied genotypes into 3 major groups, and this result largely consistent with the phylogenetic relationships of the studied genotypes based on sugar yield traits and morphologic traits. In these 3 groups, all of genotypes belonged to group I had a high sugar yield and Brix while the reverse was true for most genotypes from group III.The fingerprinting patters produced by this study could be applied for identification of the studied genotypes, and the resulted information on genetic relationships and genetic diversity among 47 elite sweet sorghum gemplasm provided a good base for choosing cross parents in genetic researches and developing new varieties.
