Variation for Sugar Content in Sweet Sorghum Stalk

Abstract: The sugar content of stalk was studied in two sweet sorghum varieties. The results were as follows: The sugar content of stalk increased rapidly in the flowering stage, then increased gradually slowly. The sugar content of stalk did not grow or had a negative growth in the milk stage, having a rapid growth when close to maturity ; Maximal value appeared in the intermediate intemodes of stem, subsequently move forward gradually upward, final maximal value returns to the central section of stem ; Sap squeezing rate came down always with the growth of sweet sorghum;The harvest time was decided by different biology characteristic of each variety.
