Abstract: In order to discuss the res-t breaking mechanism of flower bud, the effect of temperature was studied on H2O2 content and respirat ion with dormant flower buds, using nectarines (Prunus persica var. Maxin) as materials. The results showed that the treatments with low temperature enhanced the H2O2 content of flower buds in dormancy, and the H2O2 content decreases after rest released. The reason for rest released may be the H2O2 content increasing. The rate of respiration of flower buds continued to raise during the course of releasing dormancy. Among of which, the rate of phosphogluconic acid pathway(PPP) was also increased, but the rate of EMP pathway was decreased, and the rate of Tricarboxylic.Acid cycle (TCA) was the main and changed little. High temperature decreased the rate of respiration of flower buds.
