Preliminary Study on Structure of Peritrophic Membrane(PM) from Holotrichia oblita (Coleoptera:Melolonthidae)

Abstract: As an initial step to study the structure of PM from Holotrichia oblita, the basic structure of the PM was analyzed by microscopy and the PM morphological aspects were observed by biochemical technology. The results showed that major components of the PM were proteins accounting for 36.25%, and carbohydrates accounting for 8.91% by weight besides chintin.PM surface appeared to be smooth, close and highly elastic. Apparently 28 polypetides were sepa - rated by SDS -PAGE analysis with molecular weight from 17.6 to 320. 3 kDa. Heliothis armigera granulosis virus en - hancin could not degraded any proteins by assay in vitro.
