Abstract: A new cDNA fragment of 480 bp was amplified by RT -PCR from total RNA of cucumber young fruits afterpollination. Sequence analysis showed that the cDNA fragment was the same gene to CsEXP5(AF319471)from cucumberroots, and a 526 bp cDNA fragment was obtained by splicing. The predicted CsEXP5 protein contains a series of conservedTry and HFD, KNFRV conserved domains. CsEXP5 was ? -expansin and shares 90% identity with CsEXP10. CsEXP5might be correlated with the expansive growth of cucumber fruit.
