Abstract: Egg yolk immunoglobulins were achieved against K88, K99, 987P fimbrial adhesins of enterotox igenic Escherichia coli from egg yolk of chickens immunized with ETEC. The antibody activity was measured by ag argel precipitation assay. The egg yolk was gathered after its titer up to 1B64. The IgY was purified by chloroform ext raction and ammonium sulfate precipitation. With experimental infection, the neonatal piglets were treated orally with IgY solut ions after they showed symptoms of diarrhea. The mortality rate and the fecal scoring were used to evaluate the differences between the antibody treatment group and the control group. The experiment showed that the mortality rate was 33%-67% in the control group, whereas there was no death in the antibody treatment group. T he result indicated that egg yolk immunoglobulins can be used for curing pig let diarrhea.
