Evaluation on the Semi-dwarfing Wheat and Its Potential Application

Abstract: Thirty-six varieties of semi-dwarfing wheat samples are studied concern ing16 characteristics by principal component analysis. The overall assessments a re made for the samples in terms of flowery and multi-grain, thrift, yielding, lodg ing resistance, quality and diseases resistance. The results show that Xianyang 89491 and 94 zhong 26 are superior to the others in terms of flowery and multi-grain and high lodging resistance and the latter has higher yield. BPM30 and Shando ng 830076 are characterized by dwarfing, high powdery mildew resistance and thrif t. Yannong15 is excellent with respect to thrift, lodging resistance, high yieldin g and high quality.
