Abstract: The root of spring wheat seedling was treated with PEG-4000 under different water stress and phosphorus stress, the results showed that dry matter of root and leaf significantly decreased as stress time prolonged, but the relative water content (SWC) sharply declined form beginning to 24-hours treatment, afterwards SWC presented irregular changes. Phosphorus concentration in roots was highest in 15% stress concentration and 24-hours, respectively. There was lower root vigor under treatments in comparison with control, and no apparent changes was observed in peroxidase isoenzyme pattern except for the greatest stress concentration, which was obviously lack of one band of peroxidase isoenzyme.
