Comprehensive Evaluation of Chinese Superior Sorghum Germplasms Combining Ability

Abstract

Abstract: From 1992 to 1993, the combining ability of 27 superior sorghum germplasms with a panicle weight over 90g was comprehensively identied.Among them 19 were significantly higher than the control in Sca, 13 were quite higher in Gca, in which 2 B-lines were discovered.The sorghum germplasms with higher combining ability are mainly distributed in Tulufan district of Xinjiang, and a few are scattered in some areas of Hebei that are located near Beijing, and in Liaoning, Shandong and Hubei and other provinces.
