Abstract: 65 land wheat races were crossed with rye to detect the difference of crossability among wheat genotypes of Shandong. The results showed that 31 land races from Shandong were crossable with rye. There were 10 land races with a seed-setting ratio of more than 50%, 4 of which were similar to the Chinese spring, their genotype might be kr1kr1kr2kr2; 6 land races with seed-setting ratio 30-50% (kr1kr1Kr2Kr2); 6 landraces with seed-setting ratio of 10-30% (Kr1Kr1kr2kr2); 34 landraces with a seed-setting of less than 5% (Kr1Kr1Kr2Kr2); and the other 9 landraces with the seed-setting ratio of 5-10%, their genotype was unknown. The genotypic distribution of the crossability showed that there were higher frequencies of high crossable land races in the southern and the middle regions of Shandong province.

Key words: Triticum aestivum, Secale cereale, Crossability.
