Abstract: By means of 15 year long term yield experiment, the effects of long term tertilizer application on soil microorganism content, humus compositions, crop yield and soil fertility were studied systematically. The results showed that long term application of chemical and organic fertilizes could increase the contents of microorganism, humic acid, fulvic acid and humin in the cultivated soil horizon and the ratio of HA/FA.It was found that chemical properties closely related to humus compositions were the total and arailable nitrogen, and fast phosphorus. No application of fertilizers or single application of N fertilizers or manure during long periods would result in the decrease of crop yield and low resistance to stress.

Key words: Long term fertilization, Microorgnism, Humus compositions, Yield
