Abstract: The role of zeolite in compound fertilizer is as follows:(1) It can preserve nitrogen. The zeolite molecular sieve can absorb and release NH4+.Zeolite can decrease the loss of urea nitrogen in soil and the ratio of NH4+ to NO3-.(2)It can keep phosphorus activity.Zeolite can absorb and release HPO42-.The NH4+ saturated zeolite can release NH4+ and absorb Ca2+,which may decrease soil phosphorus fixation.(3) It contains potassium and many other microelements which is necessary for plants during their growth. In this paper, the applied technology of zeolite in compound fertilizers is discussed.According to the above advantages of zeolite the character of zeolite to preserve nitrogen in soil was used in the invention of the zeolite coating urea. The virtues of zeolite coating urea include long term efficiency,high yields and high ratio of nitrogen utilization and limited the pollution of nitrogen.
