Abstract: Impacts of soil water stress on photosynthesis and yield of winter wheat were studied in pondlet culture with rain proof shelter. Results showed that the photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance of flag leaf and the filling rate declined as water stress increased so that the grain yield declined. However, there were no significant yield reducing under light water stress and proper water management. This provided physiological explaination for production of water saving and high yield.
