Abstract: Uniconazole (S-07 or S-3307),a triazole derivative, is a kind of plant regulators. The biological efficacy of wheat seed dressed with the agent was studied in pot culture and field experiment. The results showed that the wheat seedling growth was not inhibited although the growth rate decreased. So, uniconazole is not a plant growth inhibitor, but only a plant growth retardant. The biological efficacy of the agent has shown a strong retarding activity in controlling wheat seedling growth and promoting tillerihg, especially tilllering before next year. Uniconazole can also raise the chlorophyll content of leaf and photosynthetic efficiency, heighten the cold resistance and improve the properties of seedlings, thereby increase ear numbers per plant and yield of wheat.
