Abstract: The aim of this study was to explore the effects of triticale dried distillers grains with solubles (TD- DGS) incorporation in beef cattle diets on the relative abundance of five rumen bacteria viz., Fibrobacter succinogenes, Succinovibrio dextrinosolvens, Selenomonas ruminantium, Megasphaera elsdenii and Prevotella ruminicola. Real- time PCR was used to detect the gene expression of these five rumen bacteria. As compared with control group, the results showed that the relative abundance of F. succinogenes, S. ruminantium and M. elsdenii in 30% TDDGS group increased, and a 3-fold (P < 0. 05), a 10-fold (P < 0. 05) and a 2-fold (P < 0. 05) significant increase were ob- served respectively, however, the relative abundance of S. dextrinosolvens and P. ruminicola decreased in 30% TD- DGS group but no significant differences were found.
