Abstract: Taking the Qianyu 22 as study material, based on the premise that soil fertility and environmental condtion were identical, studied and researched the reaction relation between the growth and physiological characteristics ocorn and water stress. The results showed that the effect of water stress on the growth of corn was great. Under the condtion of intermediate water stress, the content of PRO increased, permeability of the membrane enhanced, which leaded the photosynthesis, the NR act ivity and the chlorophyll content to decrease. The largest leaf area, the number of leaves and dry matter accumulat ion decreased relatively, and the corn grew slower, the grow progress was delayed. Along with the level of water stresscs increasing and sustaining, the growth of corn was disrupted, and canct carry out the production progress. Continuously, the content of PRO increased, permeability of the membrane enhanced, the photosynthesis, the NR activity and the chlorophyll content decreased further, the difference reached 1% of the extremely significant levels.
