Abstract: The expression of gene fragments in the corn leaves were studied both in incompatible combination(B37 Ht1 inoculated with race 0 of Setosphaeria turcica ) and in compatible combination(B37 Ht1 inoculated with race 1 of Setosphaeria turcica ) by mRNA differential display PCR.The results showed that 17 gene fragments were expressed ex-clusively,26 gene fragments expressed increasingly, and 20 gene fragments expressed decreasingly in incompatible combi-nation compared with either in compatible combination or in control. Homology was not found between gene fragments ex-pressed exclusively in incompatible combination and known R genes.

Key words: Corn, Northern corn leaf blight, mRNA differential display reverse transcription PCR(DDRT 2 PCR), gene fragments related to disease resistance
